The forest preserve gets its name from Cuba Road which traverses Cuba Township which was so named in 1850 to show support for an insurrection against Spain which controlled Cuba at that time.

Restrooms are located near the parking lot.

A tasty takeout breakfast may be obtained from Koffee Kup Restaurant located at 30 E Main Street, Lake Zurich, Illinois.
